We have a slide out exhaust system and this recirculating kit installed within it. We live in an apartment, where an outside duct was not possible so this was the best solution. It is very powerful especially for being so compact! it recirculates the air in the kitchen and disperses the heat and odor. we are vegetarians, so i don't know the effectiveness on cooking with more complicated meats and oils, but thus far it's been great for us.
