The GE Dehumidifier AHR65LM 65 Pints Per Day is a great dehumidifier to have around the house and is ideally suited for the basement. Anyone with allergies, asthma or just looking to escape the hot and humid summer days will really love the AHR dehumidifiers from GE. You know you can’t go wrong with GE products and you will find this to be a trusted and valuable piece of equipment. Those of you who may be on construction sites will find this extremely beneficial in keeping the drywall dry and avoiding rotting. If you have insect, mold or mildew problems you will also find this to be an inexpensive solution to a potentially nasty problem. This dehumidifier is also very competitively priced and has a great warranty that can also be extended if you wish to do so.
The AHR Series
Those of you who are environmentally conscious or looking to save on your next energy bill will be pleased to know that this series is Energy Star qualified. In a typical situation you will find that the dehumidifiers will dehumidify 30 to 65 pints a day depending on the model you choose to purchase. It does have a water pan that is easy to drain and maintain. You will also find electronic controls that include a soft touch control panel operating the fan speeds and more. With a handle on the top that is easy to access and caster wheels you will see that it is easy to move and can be placed in a number of locations throughout the household. This unit also features low temperature operation and a front condensation bucket with water level indicator. I spent a lot of time researching dehumidifiers for my damp basement and was very disappointed in the selection available in stores this time of year (Fall). Consumer Reports rated this 65-pint dehumidifer #1 in this category, and I heartily agree. It's so easy to use, set up, and empty. It might be a bit noisy to use in a living area, but it's perfect in our basement. Wish I'd gotten it sooner!

I've read many reviews on various dehumidifiers. Most had more cons than pros....except this one. Anddddd, so far so good. I read tons of reviews on this product before deciding to purcahse it. I couldn't find a single negative review. I looked at over 20 online stores and found that here was the cheapest by far and actually instock.
We are new home owners and had a damp smell in the basement. After using it for 2 days the smell dissappeared and we have been having to empty it every 12 hours. It displays the current humidity which is 90% in our basement and when in operation its keeping it at 60%. The machine is quiet even on the highest level. I love the fact that it disperses the air upward instead of on the side like other machines and it can be placed near walls. Its extremely energy officiant and i would reccomend it again and again.
