Our Malber WD2000 washer dryer unit replaced our old ultrasized inefficient top loading washer and vented gas dryer. Our first impression was just how small it appeared, and we doubted whether it could keep up with our family of 6, including 4 children under 10. Our main reason for looking into ventless combo units was to allow us to save money on our heating bill--since we run so much laundry, our old dryer would blow all of the heated air out of our house multiple times each day--and we would need to heat that fresh air. A little extra ventilation is good, but we were way over the top! This was the largest unit we could find for the price. Installation was simple, and we started our first load immediately. It took about 3 hours from start to finish (dirty clothes in to clean dry clothes out). Clothes came out dry and warm. Although we could not run one load of wash and another in the dryer at the same time, we found that we could start loads at times we never considered before--such as just before bed and just before leaving on a day trip. We find the loads done in the morning, or upon return. These added opportunities allow our big family to keep up with a smaller machine. I recommend that if you intend to use the dryer, that you stick with the 11 lb limit to allow for effective drying. The unit can wash up to 15 pounds of dry laundry, according to the manual. Although we really love this unit, we think it could be improved in a few ways. One, it does not have a sensor dry option--only timed dry. Two, water temperature is set by selecting a clothing type--I would like more flexibility. Our unit is set up on a solid flat surface, so it does not make large amounts of noise when it spins. The water pump is definitely audible through neighboring rooms, and someone using a unit like this in a studio apartment might struggle with noise. However, I don't think the company has misrepresented the noise level from this machine, as it is more quiet than our old top loading model.
In short, anyone moving from an ultra large top loading model to the WD2000 would need to change their laundry behavior to some degree, but we have found that it suits our needs very well.

The freight carrier will contact you to set up an appointment once the order arrives in your area. They will work around your schedule and will give you an approximate delivery time. All our deliveries include bringing the product to your house. If you are a second floor or have multiple steps please call to make arrangements before placing your order. If you are in the Metro New York and Metro New Jersey area our local shipping company will make the delivery for larger appliances. They will contact you to set up an appointment once the order arrives in your area. They will work around your schedule and will give you a 1 hour window for a delivery time. Your shipping costs will be a flat $39.00 for the first item and $25.00 each additional item. An additional installation service is available in many areas including Metro New York and Metro New Jersey.
